Some designs for characters based on the CMYK color profile. Ideally, they would be vinyl figurines.

Done in Illustrator.

Finally Something New

Whew, it's been a while since I've posted anything. Lately I've been busy with school but I managed to squeeze in these two projects for the time being. Here they are.

Damn Small Things

My character searching for a part that has rolled under the couch. What's even more aggravating is that as a techie, he's not used to putting furniture together period.

Done on Photoshop with tablet.

The Perch

Here's something I did last night.
A new character for a new story I'm working on.
He was inspired by the Alkonost and Gamayun of Russian folklore.
Done in Photoshop with my tablet.

Ms. Bunny

I usually don't do anthros but here you go.
I was doodling one day and I liked her character, even though I don't think I'll do anything with it.

Traced over a pencil sketch in Photoshop with my tablet.

Digital Coloring Practice

Practicing coloring my characters on the tablet and Photoshop.
I recently got a Baccano! art book and as I was looking at the pictures, I thought to myself, "Hey, I can color like this on the computer!"
So I've finally found a way to color my beloved characters in a way that meets my standards.

It's just simple head shots for now. More complicated things to come later.
How much later I don't know.

Summer Side Project

Ever since my summer break started I began working on a side project that I had planned since last year. Thankfully I have time this summer to get a good chunk of it done if not complete it.

Anyway it's a one-shot comic/graphic novel about a soccer team. I'm doing it in Sharpie Pen and throwing it together in InDesign. I'm shooting for 150 pages at its completion.

Here are two sample pages from the 70 that I have completed thus far.

Hana

It's been a while since I've posted anything.
Well here's a recent watercolor I did of a new character known simply as Hana.

The main cast of my longest running series. Done for the hell of it.

Still Inside

A commentary on Alzheimer's. No matter what, inside, they're still there.
Inspired by a recent episode of "Arthur" oddly enough, though I use one of my new characters.

There's more to the storyline but I'm too lazy to post about it now.

Makeena Williams

A character I've had in mind for a while and a poor excuse for a gun.
I like her dress though.

Done in 2 hours with my tablet and Photoshop.

One Messed Up Eye

A digital portrait of one of my other new characters who has a very severe scar going across his eye and face. Done in Photoshop with my tablet.

Fast Food but No Skates

A friend for the previously featured character.

Fast Food and Fast Skates

Another new character from another new story.
Anyway, he works as a roller skate server at a fast food chain. I initially just wanted a zippy dude on skates, and inevitably I had to create a story for him.

Done in Photoshop with a tablet.

New Oil Painting

Usually during my winter breaks from school I'll take on a couple projects of my own volition. Last year I created the oil painting of the two waiters. This year I did a painting of a new character.

Mostly this piece is to practice my color technique. I'm still perfecting digital painting on Photoshop, so I thought it would be good to go back to traditional media and get a feel for things again. I feel though I'm much more comfortable with the oils in this one than the one last year. I have to give credit to one of my colleagues for inspiring me to do an oil painting this break.

I won't say much about the character, I'm still developing him. You'll just have to ask in person.
